We’re Making Moves to Heat Up Winter

Weather-wise, the weekend was somewhat of a wash, with mostly heavy rain hitting New York City instead of the apocalyptic snowstorm meteorologists first warned. But we weren’t fully spared from an authentic Winter™️ experience; temperatures dropped significantly on Monday, dipping into the single digits, the coldest on this date since 1985. Brutal winds actually made it feel closer to minus 20 degrees, enough to freeze the feathers on this Eagle. At least Central Park’s marvelous Mandarin duck seemed cozy.

While the bitter cold will continue to grip the tri-state area today, things have started to heat up in the new year for the leader in New York City commercial relocation. (That’s us!) Here’s a look at a few major office moves we’ve begun work on, and one set to begin soon.

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy: The big law firm is relocating its New York office to 55 Hudson Yards after around 150 years in the Financial District, at 28 Liberty Street. It will occupy 250,000 square feet across nine floors at the new, 51-story office tower on the corner of 33rd Street and 11th Avenue. Early this month, we completed the project’s first phase, delivering and distributing the firm’s technology for IT services. Prior to delivery, we safely stored the items at our new warehouse in Secaucus, New Jersey. (Another primary component of our services is office storage.)

Boies Schiller Flexner: We’re also handling this big law firm’s office move into 55 Hudson Yards, coming from 575 Lexington Avenue. The project is set to start later this month.

JPMorgan Chase & Co.: With the financial services giant expecting to begin demolition of its existing headquarters at 270 Park Avenue to construct a new, 70-story office tower on the site early this year, we recently moved approximately 1,000 employees from that location and some of the bank’s other office spaces in the city, including 4 New York Plaza. We will continue to work closely with the company as the new 270 Park Avenue materializes.
