Three Phase Ogilvy Move: Phase One Complete!

ogilvy

Last Friday night Eagle Transfer had 65 men working across New York City. Most of the work we did was with our larger accounts, some were moving internally and others had building to building moves scheduled. The move we would like to highlight from Friday night was the first phase of a three phase project we are completing for Ogilvy & Mather. Ogilvy has been a long term client of Eagle Transfer so when the decision was made to move 1,500 employees within their headquarters at 636 11th Avenue we were the first mover called. Since there are so many people moving from various floors, this project is being completed in three phases. Phase one was on June 15th, phase two will be June 22nd and phase three will be June 28th. In each phase Eagle Transfer is moving 500 employees.

Preparation

Phase one began on Monday the 11th at 8:00AM when an Eagle Transfer project manager started tagging all items moving and hanging corresponding placards to signify each item’s proper destination. On Thursday, the heavy lifting started. One truck, two project managers and eighteen movers delivered all moving equipment and moved all chairs to the proper destination. The final step of preparation was Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM, when ten men and two project managers packed desktop computer equipment brought all moving equipment to proper floors.

Main Move

The main move began Friday night when twenty men and two project managers worked to move 500 Ogilvy employees throughout multiple floors to new desks. Four movers and one project manager returned to 636 11th Avenue on Saturday morning at  8:00AM to finish up the first phase of the move.

Phases 2 & 3

Phase one was a success and went exactly as planned. Over the next two weeks Eagle Transfer project managers and movers will be repeating the same steps to ensure the next 1,000 Ogilvy employees relocate to their new desks without a hitch!
