Here’s a quick look at just a few of the city’s top events and activities.

New York City Marathon

The famed New York City Marathon takes place this weekend on Sunday, November 6! Winding 26.2 miles across the five boroughs, the marathon starts in Staten Island before making its way into Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx before ending in Central Park. Be sure to show up early for a great view!

New York Comedy Festival

One of the country’s top comedy festivals, the New York Comedy Festival will be in full swing this weekend at various locations throughout New York City, including Carnegie Hall and the Beacon Theatre. Featured comics this year include Trevor Noah, Tracy Morgan, Bridget Everett and more! For a fun and unforgettable time, don’t miss this event!

Fall Forest Weekend

Explore the city’s beautiful fall foliage in the New York Botanical Garden’s Thain Family Forest, a 50-acre patch of woodlands known for its idyllic and unspoiled splendor. Free guided tours and canoe trips are also available, so don’t miss out!

Comic Arts Brooklyn

Are you a fan of indie comics? Then be sure to head over to 370 Metropolitan Avenue in Brooklyn to check out one of the country’s premier festivals of indie comics books, zines and books. Additional information about this free event can be found at www.comicartsbrooklyn.com.

Canstruction

Fans of contemporary pop art definitely need to check out Canstruction, a festival that pits teams of professional architects against each other as they design sculptures made from nonperishable food cans. This fun event takes place at Brookfield Place and is free to the public, though a suggested donation of one canned nonperishable good per person is certainly welcome. All food cans involved in the competition are donated to City Harvest to end hunger, so go for a good cause!
