Even in the middle of winter, the Big Apple still offers plenty of things to see and do. From art fairs to antique shows to the city’s acclaimed theater scene, this weekend is certainly no exception! Here’s just a quick look at some of this weekend’s activities and events here in New York City.

Birdland Big Band

Start your weekend early with some great music this Friday evening courtesy of the Birdland Big Band, a fun blend of Latin, funk and jazz. Starts Friday from 5PM to 1AM at the Birdland Jazz Club at 315 West 44th Street in Midtown Manhattan.

Outsider Art Fair

If you’re a fan of art, then you definitely want to check out the Outsider Art Fair taking place this weekend at the Metropolitan Pavilion at 125 West 18th Street in Manhattan. The art fair features acclaimed works from folk and self-taught artists and has been a staple of the city’s arts community for 25 years now. Winter Antique Show

Hosted by the historic Park Avenue Armory, the Winter Antiques Show boasts more than 70 booths of antique and vintage art, furniture and housewares to discover. A must for history and art fans alike, this event is not to be missed. The event will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 12PM to 7PM and cost $25 per person. Holiday Express: Toys and Trains from the Jermi Collection

It’s no secret that New York City is packed with great Broadway shows and performing arts events to enjoy.
