The holiday season is almost here!

With Halloween in the rearview mirror, NYC is definitely starting to feel more in the holiday spirit with each passing day. This weekend offers plenty to see and do for New Yorkers and holiday visitors alike, from art exhibits to special exhibitions at museums and much, much more! Here are a few things in store this weekend here in the Big Apple.

Canstruction

This 24th annual contest competition pits two architecture teams against each other to create unique sculptures using only cans containing nonperishable foods, which are then subsequently donated to end hunger. Takes place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan. A must for art lovers and anyone who loves a good competition for a good cause!

Target First Saturdays

The first Saturday of every month at the Brooklyn Museum features a free bevy of art workshops, performances, talks, tours and more! A great way to experience the museum’s rich cultural offerings without spending a dime! Takes place this Saturday starting at 1pm at the museum’s location at 200 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn.

Expedition: Fashion from the Extreme

Fashion fans will definitely want to head to the Museum at the Fashion institute of Technology for this special exhibition focused on fashion inspired by the extreme environments of the Arctic, deserts and other harsh climates. For those interested in cutting-edge fashion, this is a must!

Grand Bazaar NYC

The Grand Bazaar NYC is your chance to browse a vast selection of art, jewelry, home furnishings and food, all crafted by the city’s finest artisans. Takes place this Sunday at 10AM at 100 West 77th Street, just across from the famed American Museum of Natural History.

Ice Skating at Rockefeller Center

Beat the holiday crowds by heading to the iconic ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center this weekend! Opens at 8:30AM Saturday and Sunday. There’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit in the heart of NYC!
