EAGLE

NY Daily News

The morning after Hurricane Sandy, Eagle Transfer received a phone call from the head of Facilities at the New York Daily News. Not only was their brand new facility at 4 New York Plaza without power, but the entire building’s infrastructure was damaged. The Daily News had to move out quickly in order to continue publishing their daily edition.

Within two hours of that call, a team from Eagle Transfer was on-site to assess the situation. It was clear that this was going to be a gargantuan undertaking, as we would have to carry down many flights of stairs—in the dark—contents and technology for over 400 people located on the 6th and 7th floors.

By 3 P.M. the same day, Eagle returned with a crew of over 60 men. We set-up generator powered lighting in the building’s stairwells, equipped our movers with miner’s lamps, and begin disconnecting technology and moving contents from the building.

With military precision, the entire move out was completed safely and damage free within 24 hours.

“ We used Eagle Transfer before this emergency and have used Eagle since, always with complete satisfaction, but I felt you should be thanked and recognized for this herculean effort in particular.”
