Role at Eagle Transfer: Senior project manager
Describe your role: My role has expanded somewhat in the last few years to include some account work, but basically I manage some of our more challenging commercial-relocation projects, including acting as a liaison between sales staff and the labor.
Years in commercial moving: My career in this business spans 32 years. I began as a helper in Teamsters Local 814, continued as a seniority member of Central Moving & Storage list, and then became a foreman there. For the last 20 years, I have been a project manager and senior project manager here at Eagle.
Most memorable commercial relocation: That would be the relocation of the leadership of CitiGroup in 2017. It was done during a severe snowstorm. We not only completed the project successfully but were able to get everyone home safely each and every day.
Favorite building you’ve done work in: 250 West 55th Street. We moved the law firm Kaye Scholer there.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?
Simple: I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family, whom I cherish greatly.
What do you know now about the moving industry that you wish you’d known five years ago?
The disconnecting and reconnecting of IT involved in our projects. It poses its own set of issues.
