Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP, an international law firm headquartered in New York City hired Eagle Transfer to move its archives from the 9th floor of its Bronx warehouse to the 8th floor. Beginning on February 26 and ending in late May, with a brief pause due to Covid-19, Eagle Transfer completed the move under the guidance of Project Manager, Joseph Adams.
Over the course of six weeks of work, the Eagle Transfer team packed up, moved and unpacked 45,000 archive boxes. In addition, the NYC commercial moving company dismantled, moved and rebuilt 250 units of metal shelving. An additional 1,600 units of metal shelving were dismantled and sent to the junkyard; these units were moved to ensure that Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett would not be in violation of their lease. The 9th floor was left in broom-swept condition.
In the midst of the process, the pandemic hit New York City hard and the work was put on hold until Eagle Transfer received its “essential business letter” from the state. Once given the “okay” to continue work, the Eagle Transfer team was put under additional time constraints because of the delay. While following all CDC-guidelines, including the use of personal protection equipment and social distancing, Eagle Transfer completed the job on-time.
Around the same time as the massive Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett move, High 5 Games needed to get out of its New York City lease. Eagle Transfer was hired to pack and move its entire office and all contents, including employees’ personal belongings and common area items into Eagle Transfer’s warehouse, until the company is able to obtain a new lease.
