NYC Weekend Guide for September 16 – 17, 2017

With September in full swing here in the Big Apple, there’s plenty to see and do this weekend! From concerts to book festivals to art fairs and a lot more in between, this weekend promises a little bit of something for everyone. Here’s a quick look at just a few of this weekend’s top events and activities to check out here in NYC!

The Meadows

This huge concert festival will feature four stages with some of the biggest names in music today. Takes place at Citi Field in Queens starting at 11:45AM on this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Don’t miss this!

Affordable Art Fair

The 24th annual Affordable Art Fair returns to the city yet again this weekend. For just $18 for an advance ticket, you can explore and buy a wide array of drawings, paintings, sculptures, photos and more! Takes place at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea at 125 West 18th Street starting at 11:00AM on this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Photoville

Head on over to the Brooklyn Bridge Park starting at noon Saturday and Sunday for Photoville, a vast collection of photography exhibits from than 500 artists! Talks as well as food and drinks will be on hand, so don’t miss out!

Star Wars in Concert

Star Wars fans still have to wait a few months until Episode VIII hits theaters this December, but you can still wet your appetite for everyone’s favorite space saga this Friday and Saturday starting at 8:00PM at the David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center. There, the New York Philharmonic will give its take on John Williams’ legendary score to the films. A must for movie buffs and music fans alike!

World’s Fair Nano

Tech buffs will definitely want to head over to the Brooklyn Expo Center at 72 Noble Street in Brooklyn to check out this fun and interactive celebration of all sorts of new technology. Takes place this Saturday and Sunday at noon!

Brooklyn Book Festival

Not just your ordinary book fair, the annual Brooklyn Book Festival features talks with professional writers, readings and even more! Takes place this Sunday at Brooklyn Borough Hall and Plaza.
